David Isiavwe is a General Manager at Union Bank of Nigeria Plc and is currently the Chief Audit Executive (CAE) of the Bank. He is also the current President and Chairman Board of Trustees of the Information Security Society of Africa, Nigeria (ISSAN), a not-for-profit organization. David also used to be the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Banque Internationale Du Burkina (BIB) – in Burkina Faso, West Africa.
David Isiavwe comes with an experience level of over 26 years spanning the Banking industry as well as the academe having been a lecturer at the University of Benin from 1989 before joining Citibank in 1992 where he rose to the rank of Vice President, based in Cape town South Africa. David later joined UBA Plc as a General Manager where he spent circa 6.5 years before taking up his current role at Union Bank of Nigeria Plc in 2013.
David holds a Ph.D degree in Accounting. His key areas of interest and specialization include Corporate Governance, Business Transformation/Turn-Around and the Security of Information Systems. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA); an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB) and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) by the ISC2 of the United States of America as well as being Certified in the Governance of Enterprise Information Technology (CGEIT) by ISACA also in the United States of America. David has attended extensive international courses and also holds other professional certifications.
